When the Designer meets the Stylist

I started designing in my little diary, sitting at the very chic Soho house, sipping on coffee and thinking of people close to me. I instantly began to think of the qualities of these friends & family that stood out and that helped me create an entire line of footwear. That was when Veruschka X Namita Alexander took life.

What inspired me was the 90’s fashion diktat. Using 2 of my favorite elements chainmail and denim, I designed my very first shoe collaboration with Veruschka By Payal Kothari. Payal used her years of shoe expertise to fine-tune all the details of the shoe design and the development process.

Ash Shoe

The ‘ASH’ shoe takes the name after my sister, who has always had a soft spot for a tie up sandal and also because she holds people up!

Urmi Sandal

The ‘URMI’ is a blingy modern, fuss-free shoe. The shoe gets its name from my best friend as she loves bling, and no matter how many pairs of heeled shoes she owns, she still returns to a comfortable flat shoe at the end of the day!

Much of the collection is styled with a square toe box. I feel that the design is both flattering for feet,
and a modern aesthetic I would personally love in my shoe wardrobe.

Nami Shoe

My most beloved piece from this collection has to be the one I designed for myself! This shoe is structured with a very comfortable wearable heel and a single chainmail strap. It’s an ultra sexy sandal that practically goes with everything. It comes in two colour variants – the ‘NAMI’ black and the ‘NAMI’ pink.
One with black chainmail and dark denim, and the other with pink chainmail over light denim.

Nami Shoe

Here I have paired the ‘NAMI’ sandal with a pair of wide legged jeans, a leather embossed cowboy skirt belt, and a white corseted top. This sandal elongates the length of your legs, and works beautifully with a midi skirt or even a mini dress.
